Master Technician Requirements Are Changing!

What is Changing?
Currently, once a Technician achieves Master Technician status they are a Master Technician for life regardless of the training level maintained. With new vehicle technologies emerging every year, it is critical that all Master Technicians stay current with their training. To ensure that the Master Technician Certification represents the highest level of training achievement, beginning April 1, 2018, the certification will be valid for a 5-year period.
What Do I Do?

If your dealership is enrolled in the Honda Professionals program and you achieved your Master Technician Certification between 2013 and 2017, you do not need to do anything now. You will automatically receive a new plaque featuring “Achieved” and “Valid Through” dates (see example).

If you are a seasoned Master Technician (achieved 2012 or earlier) who has completed 100% of your training modules since January 2016, you will also automatically receive a new plaque.

When Do I Expire?

If you achieved your Master Technician Certification in 2012 or before and have not maintained 100% completion on your training, your certification will expire on March 31, 2018. To recertify, you must complete 100% of all required training modules. Between now and March 31, Master Technicians needing to recertify, will be given enrollment priority at the Training Center.
